to knowing God and making Him known Our primary purpose as Victoria's YWAM Base is to come alongside the local church to serve, train, disciple, equip and mobilize the family of Christ. Our aim is to first love and know God through Jesus Christ so that we may be empowered to make His Gospel known in word and deed throughout Victoria, Vancouver Island, and other target areas. We desire to accomplish this by developing leaders and fostering and nurturing mature leadership in the lives of the Youth With A Mission staff, who in turn will be able to mentor and train others in the Body of Christ. We are committed to building bridges and promoting unity between believers in all Christian denominations and ministries so that the world may be won to Jesus Christ. Throughout the twelve years of our history, a number of ministries, outreaches and training programs have come into being to accomplish this vision. These include ongoing ministries like our First Nations Ministry where we have been bringing the life-changing presence of the Gospel into a local First Nations community for several years. Our First Nations ministry also reaches out to other communities where we are establishing a presence through our summer First Nations Outreach and other visits throughout the year. Another summer outreach opportunity is our Mission Adventures program. It is designed for youth groups and provides all of the planning and training necessary so your youth group can have a short-term missions experience without the stress of having to plan it yourself. |
